    The ultimate fusion of lightweight comfort and rugged windproof protection. Your first line of defense against wind and light rain. The A196 Hurricane Shirt incorporates some of the best elements of some of the brand's products. It introduces new features and design aspects of the Elite jackets into the simple framework of the Stowaway Windbreaker, adding an improved front pocket. The hood features the same 3-point adjustment as on the Vulcan and Stealth jackets, combining a foam hood with wire. The wire hood maintains a rigid shape so as not to obstruct vision. Velcro adjustment has been added to the cuffs and a side cinch system with an extended back hem.
    The Hurricane Shirt features ample storage space with two stacked front pockets. The first is a zippered pocket with top access for storing small items and devices, but it also doubles as a stuff sack for the shirt. The second pocket, located behind the first, is a zippered hoodie-style pocket, ideal for warming hands. All zippers on the Hurricane Shirt are equipped with storm flaps for additional protection. This essential feature allows operators to add wind protection as needed, without excessive bulk or weight. Its design is roomy enough to be worn over base layers without restricting movement.
    In a military clothing system, the windproof layer serves as a lightweight, easily packable protective barrier designed to protect the wearer from the convective effects of wind chill. The windproof layer prevents wind from penetrating the inner layers, thus preventing heat from being carried away by convection. In cold environments, this windproof layer preserves body heat, significantly improving comfort and operational readiness. This is essential in combat scenarios where soldiers must move quickly and efficiently, and it allows them to adapt their clothing to changing conditions.
